So I'm doing this English project and I just need about 3-5mins of your time to answer a few short questions. This is just like a very short survey, nothing intense at all unless you feel like telling me a lot, which is also welcome.

even though it is math. the professor still needs to use the language to express it. so it is literature.

it is literature because people put thought in creating those questions. people need to use multiple sources so that the questions are not flaw.

Language in terms of literature comes in the form of written text or as spoken words. The case is that all these items represent an object and not literature itself. Various subjects like books, e-mails, drawings, etc are made up of many different things. The portion of the subjects that are symbols or representation of some form of communication is language. The artistic side of literature is highly arguable but is present in most of the items, thus making it literature. In an e-mail, a person is writing to a friend. It takes creativity and language to compose the text for another to read and understand. Only the text part of the e-mail is considered literature. The technology of e-mail and the use of it is not. In a movie, literature is present from dialogue. Drawings are not literature. It doesn't have a form of verbal communication. The images do represent symbols that can be 'language' but because 'art' is not an official language its not literature. A restaurant menu is not literature because there's nothing artistic about it. You can go on about what 'art' means but its quite ambiguous, it depends more on general knowledge.
